Being able to see Hozier in a club with just over 200 capacity is going to be one of those, “I was there” moments. Next time around he definitely will be performing in a larger venue.

Standing at nearly 6’7 Hozier isn’t hard to miss – his music for the most part is on the softer side but his stature and performance commands an audience. People were attentive on every lyric and those that were talking during his set were quickly shushed by the rest. The set was nearly 2 hours long comprising of songs from his two EP’s plus his take on Led Zeppelin’s Whole Lotta Love.

If you get a chance to see him perform – do it! He mentioned he is going to be releasing an CD either at the end of this year or early next year – when he does his star status is going to sky rocket. Some of the highlights for me were the songs “Take me to Church”, “Cherry Wine” and “Whole Lotta Love” (Led Zeppelin).

I got a chance to talk to him a bit after the show and he is very grateful and courteous about his fans. I just got back from Ireland where he is fromĀ and were able to talk a bit about his country.
